Thank you for your interest in our Schools of Choice program. This program is designed for students residing outside our district boundaries. The application window is now closed for the current 2024-25 school year. Applications for the 2025-26 school year will be live and available through the buttons below starting at 8 a.m. on April 14.

Elementary school placement process:

Grandville Schools does not offer a choice of elementary schools. School building placement for students in grades YK-4 will be determined over the summer, and notification will come directly from the elementary schools in August. Grandville Schools prioritizes keeping class sizes at or below maximum capacity, and finalizing placements later helps achieve this. We make every attempt to place siblings in the same building when possible. Young kindergarten is not offered at all schools.

Grandville Public Schools has two Schools of Choice plans:

  • The Kent ISD Collaborative Schools of Choice plan is for students who live within a school district in Kent County, including Byron Center, Caledonia, Cedar Springs, Comstock Park, EGR, Forest Hills, Godfrey Lee, Godwin Heights, Grand Rapids, Kelloggsville, Kenowa Hills, Kent City, Kentwood, Lowell, Northview, Rockford, Sparta, Thornapple Kellogg and Wyoming.
  • The 105c plan is for students who live in a contiguous intermediate school district outside Kent County, such as a district in Ottawa (Hudsonville, Jenison, etc.), Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Montcalm, Newaygo or Muskegon Counties.
Applicants who have a sibling attending Grandville Public Schools may be given priority, as it is in the best interest of children to keep their siblings in the same district. A district may refuse to enroll an applicant who has been suspended, expelled or convicted of a felony. Transportation is not provided under either plan.
