Grandville Public Schools has been a proud partner of the Mental Health Foundation of West Michigan since 2005 and has incorporated their signature program, be nice., into schools districtwide since its launch in 2010.

Be nice. is an upstream mental health and suicide prevention program that equips individuals to recognize, understand, accept and take action when it comes to mental health. The four-step action plan—notice, invite, challenge, empower—creates a common language to talk about mental health in addition to fostering a culture of awareness and support.
